Chencho is a 12 month old Chihuahua in Beach Park, IL, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment of Possible Poisoning or Autoimmune Disease.

My family and I adopted our dog Chencho when he was a puppy and he’s around 12 months old now. We have a budgie at home too which he loves to play with and follow around. He’s a very energetic and friendly dog, he often loves to play with friends and other family members.

We don’t know if he has an autoimmune disease or got poisoned from something sprayed outside that he might’ve picked up from his daily walks. Gilmer Road Animal Hospital is helping us greatly with figuring out what he needs. Right now he’s hospitalized and we know for sure that he needs a blood transfusion and medication. We need to treat him as fast as possible or he could pass away soon.

Chencho loves everyone he meets. He loves to play tug of war with anything he can, whether that’s his rope, other toys, our socks or blankets. Oftentimes you’ll see him on someone’s lap and loves to get head scratches to lull him to sleep. He always waits on our couch by the window when we’re out and greats us excitedly at the door when we’re back home.

There’s only one source of income in our household right now. His sickness was very sudden and needs urgent attention, and how soon it is we don’t have enough money to pay his medical bills. He’s still a puppy and would devastate us if we needed to put him down.
