Cherish's Journey From Trauma to Triumph

A witness watched in horror as someone walked onto their third-floor balcony with a tiny kitten in hand, then cruelly hurled her over the edge. The kitten landed headfirst on the pavement below. She lay there, injured and helpless, until a homeless woman, struggling herself, rushed to her side. With no transportation, she walked a long distance to the nearest vet, begging them to save the kitten's life. That kitten is now named Cherish.

Cherish arrived at the clinic with visible scars on her head and ears, head trauma, and what appeared to be blindness in one eye. She was in shock and severely disoriented. The vet couldn’t admit her as a stray, but they reached out to us at Saving Hope. Our intake was closed due to overwhelming vet bills, but we couldn’t turn our backs. We admitted her immediately, and she was hospitalized for round-the-clock care and monitoring.

Miraculously, Cherish has now made a full recovery. Her sight returned, her balance improved, and she began exploring her world with confidence. Her foster family, already smitten, decided to adopt her, giving her the forever home she deserves. But this happy ending came with a steep cost: emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, medication, and follow-up care to monitor her recovery.
