Chica is a 5 year old Conure in Provo, UT, who needs $300 for Avian Borna Virus + Unknown Secondary Infection.

Chica is my first pet officially in life. I am a middle age Dad with 2 kids. Chica is 4/5 years old, and we wanted a friend to be with us for the next 15. She is very well loved, taken care of, fed, and obsessed over daily. Our kids love this bird, and she was meant to help me. I have grown overly attached to her, and want to do anything I can for her. So thats why I looked up places for help.

Recent diagnosis 2 months ago confirmed she has ABV, and a secondary infection that is taken all its toll. The ABV may or may not be a primary cause, but our Vet believes it is a secondary infection that is doing the current damage. She was hospitalized for a few days last month, and has been on various medications. She had a good drop in White blood cells, but has risen in the last 2 weeks.

I recieved Chica from a family almost 2 years ago, she was 3. They knew Chica needed more hours of care and attention, and wanted to find a family. We became that for Chica, and she is literally 1 of the family(and more). When she became sick the last 2 months, its just been all hands on deck for her. Round the clock scritches, and strict guidelines laid out from our awesome Exotics vet.

We have put as much of our Care credit and savings as we can for her, but she still needs help and is continuing to fight. We need help with any treatment, testing, and anything. I dont really know what to put, but I just want to help her if I can. Shes still fighting.
