About this campaign
Chicharon came to us from a local LA animal shelter as a tiny kitten in the summer of 2019. He was shy at first, but quickly became a snuggle bug, constantly comforting his owner when she was stressed during her demanding graduate school classes. ChiChi loved to watch birds from the screen door and zoom around the tiny studio apartment they lived in at all hours of the day and night.
Eventually, ChiChi and his owner moved into a new apartment with his future dad. Cheech was right at home, enjoying watching the trains from the sliding door and sometimes even getting some patio time with his mom and dad.
When his mom became pregnant, ChiChi was instantly in love with his new human baby brother, constantly following his mom and the baby bump around the house, sleeping on top of her to protect his soon-to-be brother and calming her through a difficult pregnancy. When his baby brother arrived, Chicharon was instantly sweet to him and still keeps an eye on him from atop his cat tower every day.
Cheech was diagnosed with a blocked bladder. On his third visit to the emergency vet within a week, he had a heart attack, died momentarily and was resuscitated by the dedicated clinic staff. He was septic but was able to be stabilized thanks to the amazing care of the veterinarians and staff at the Kinder 4 Rescue Clinic. He needs IV treatment, a hospital stay, and surgery.
Please help Chicharon get the live-saving care he needs. Donations go directly to his treatment at the non-profit veterinary clinic, Kinder 4 Rescue, who are continuing his care. His estimated costs for treatment are $4k in addition to the $2.5k from prior emergency care.
