chico is a 3 year old German Shepherd Dog in Charlotte, NC, who needs $1,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

We had retrieved Chico from a family-friend and was told he was being picked up, along with, we presume, the mother of the puppy, Chico. They'd both being taken to the pound to be put down and the family friend could only take one and we decided to foster and take care of Chico. We had received him at 3 months, he was very malnourished and small but within a couple of weeks, he was looking great.

Recently, Chico has been having some chest pains and heart problems. We’ve taken him to the Country Vet here in Davie, where they’re trying to help him but with trips and bills we can’t provide the much needed help he needs. We try to give him the most medical attention we can provide, but we have to miss appointments making it harder for him and us at times.

Chico is the most friendly-lovable German Shepard, he loves playing with other dogs, loves playing fetch, and is very friendly with new faces and children that come visit. Since he is a big dog, sometimes kids get scared and he feels bad, but we make sure everyone knows he’s very friendly, but we understand the fear for kids so we have him trained to separate when we see others get scared.

Currently we are paying for college and rent for 2 children and we have been trying to save but it’s difficult and we just wanted to try to see if we could get even a little bit of help from anyone. With Chicos heart and chest pain, anything would help, even a prayer will.
