Chico is a 7-year-old Chihuahua in Dix Hills , NY, who needs $2,000 for a brain MRI.

About 7 years ago our family went on a vacation to Florida. We went to the outdoor flea market and saw a woman selling puppies so we bought three of them. Chico was originally going to be named Mario, but we somehow decided to name him Chico. His nickname is Chico monkey.

Chico sleeps with me on my bed and likes to go outside and go for walks. When he hears music he gets happy and dances around. He is very sweet to everyone he meets and when he wants to get out he will scratch you to pick him up. When you see Chico he changes your entire mood. He is the cutest chihuahua and my family’s best friend.

Due to the corona virus I lost my job and I haven’t been able to find anything yet. I can barely pay for my dog's bills. My dog is my best friend I would do anything to have him healthy again. I have had many losses this year I can’t lose my best friend.

This is an emergency. Chico was attacked by our other dog Dexter who is much bigger than Chico. They fought because our female dog is in heat, but Dexter bit Chico's head and now he has swelling in the brain. He needs to get an MRI but we don’t have enough money for it. Right now he is staying in the hospital overnight to watch him.

Chico is very scared of thunder and is always happy. He is a very playful but calm dog. He is never in a bad mood and will always make you happy. He knows when you are sad and will comfort you. He has the cutest tail when he is happy. Nothing Chico does will make you unhappy and he never gets in trouble.
