Chico is a 1-year-old Chi-mix in Wichita, KS, who needs $2,000 for double leg surgery.

Jeniffer R. and her family are horrified. Someone attacked their dog, Chico, and they can't afford the care he needs to save him.

"A teenager hatefully broke Chico's front two legs for no reason," Jeniffer tells Waggle.

Jeniffer raced Chico to an emergency animal hospital. He needs more than $4,000 for surgery and casts.

"I'm a single mom of five children, and I can't come up with $4,000 to fix our baby," Jeniffer says. "Our hearts are shattered because we can't get our sweet boy the help he needs. His birthday is next month, and it would mean the world to us to see our baby get help."

Chico adores his family dearly, and they miss him.

"He waits at the window every day for the kids to get home from school," Jeniffer says. "He sleeps beside the children's beds with his favorite blanket and toy. He loves his family very much, and we love him."
