About this campaign
Chief was given to me as a Christmas gift back in 2013. He was a tiny kitten with a big personality and the bond we have makes him without a doubt the best gift I’ve ever received. For 10 years, we have been through it all together.
Chief spends his days sitting in the window, soaking in the sun, and playing with his brother, Chili. He spoils his moms with love after long days and keeps us warm on cold nights.
Chief is a special guy with a big heart. A lap isn’t enough for Chief when he wants snuggles. Chief is most comfortable on my chest, neck, or face. When my wife and I got married, we worried that the old man would have a hard time sharing his mom with another human and her cat. We were happy to find that he welcomed his new mom and brother with open paws, and we were soon a big, happy family.
In recent months, Chief has had numerous trips to the vet including a trip to the emergency room at Vida Veterinary Hospital. He is showing signs of serious abdominal pain, balance issues, and spends his days feeling sick instead of snuggly. After the exams, radiographs and blood work, we still have no answers. The next step is to see an internal medicine clinic for an ultrasound and biopsy.
On our income, we have exhausted all options in getting these tests for Chief. The subsidized veterinary clinics in our area lack the technology to do the necessary tests to get a diagnosis. We hate to see our baby in pain and having to go without the care he deserves.
