About this campaign

Chintu was brought into Baw Baw Animal Welfare after struggling to walk. He was helplessly dragging himself forward using only his front legs.

We rushed him to our clinic, where we discovered he had likely been involved in a traffic accident. Although there were no visible wounds or obvious signs of trauma, the damage was far more serious than it first appeared. We believe Chintu may also be suffering from neurological injury. He is currently unable to control his urination and defecation, leaving him frightened, uncomfortable, and vulnerable.

Right now, we are doing everything we can to find the root cause of his condition and provide the supportive care he desperately needs. Chintu is confused and living in pain, but he still chooses to fight every single day.

He fully depends on our rescue team for the compassion, treatment, and safety he deserves. We are working tirelessly to understand his injuries and give him the chance to heal.

If you’re able, please consider donating to Chintu’s care. This gentle, loving boy needs our help — and we truly can’t do it without you.

2/27/26 Update

When Chintu first came to us, he could only drag himself forward using his front legs. Confused, incontinent, and likely suffering from both traumatic and possible neurological injury, his future felt uncertain. Every movement seemed like a struggle.

Today, we are holding onto something we didn’t have before: hope. Chintu is becoming more active than he was when he first arrived — and seeing this little soul move with more strength fills our hearts in the most beautiful way. While he still has challenges ahead, we are noticing encouraging changes. He is more alert, more responsive, and showing small but meaningful improvements in his mobility.

He continues to receive supportive care, monitoring, assisted hygiene, and therapies aimed at helping his body regain as much function as possible. Cases involving neurological trauma are rarely straightforward, and progress can be slow. But even small steps matter — and Chintu is taking them.

He still depends on us completely. He needs ongoing medical evaluations, rehabilitation support, specialized care for his bladder and bowel management, and a safe space to continue healing.

If you’re able, please consider continuing to support Chintu’s journey. Your donations help cover diagnostics, daily care supplies, therapy, and the consistent support he needs to keep improving.

Chintu is fighting. And now, for the first time, we’re seeing glimpses of strength returning. Please donate and share his story. Together, we can give this gentle boy every chance to stand stronger tomorrow than he did yesterday.

3/12/26 Update

When Chintu first arrived at Baw Baw Animal Welfare, he was in heartbreaking condition. Unable to use his back legs, he dragged himself forward using only his front legs, frightened and confused after what we believe was a traffic accident. On top of that, he had no control over his urination or defecation, making him incredibly vulnerable and uncomfortable.

Today, we are so grateful to share encouraging progress. Chintu’s appetite and water intake are now normal, and he is urinating and defecating regularly. These are very important signs that his body is stabilizing and responding to the care he has been receiving. His overall condition has improved, and he is now actively present in our sanctuary environment.

Even more beautiful to witness is Chintu’s personality beginning to shine. Chintu has shown himself to be a lovely, playful puppy who enjoys being around his caregivers and exploring the sanctuary. Despite everything he has endured, his spirit remains bright and full of life. While he continues to receive supportive care and monitoring as we work to understand the full extent of his injuries, seeing him engaged, playful, and comfortable is a meaningful step forward in his recovery.

However, Chintu’s journey is not over. Continued physical therapy (PT) will be critical in helping him rebuild strength, improve mobility, and give him the best possible chance at regaining function. Rehabilitation takes time, consistency, and specialized care.

If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support Chintu’s ongoing physical therapy and rehabilitation. Your support will help cover the therapies and care he needs to keep moving forward. Chintu has already shown us how strong he is. With your help, we can give this sweet boy the continued support he needs to keep fighting, healing, and hopefully one day standing stronger than ever.

4/6/26 Update

We are incredibly happy to share a beautiful final update on Chintu. When Chintu first arrived at Baw Baw Animal Welfare, he was unable to use his back legs and could only drag himself forward with his front legs. He was frightened, incontinent, and believed to be suffering from injuries after a traffic accident, possibly including neurological damage. His condition was heartbreaking, and his future was uncertain.

Thanks to compassionate care, consistent monitoring, and the generous support of donors, Chintu began to show small but meaningful improvements. Those small steps have now turned into something truly wonderful. Today, Chintu is actively present in our sanctuary and enjoying life as a young dog should. His appetite and water intake are normal, and he is urinating and defecating regularly — all very important signs of recovery and stability. Even more encouraging, he is actively interacting with other dogs and engaging with his caregivers. His confidence has grown, and his personality continues to shine.

Watching Chintu transform from a frightened, immobile puppy into a stronger, more active young boy has been nothing short of inspiring. He is becoming stronger every day and continues to thrive in the safe, supportive environment of the sanctuary.

This progress would not have been possible without the kindness of everyone who donated, shared his story, and supported his care. Your contributions helped provide the diagnostics, supportive care, therapy, and daily attention that gave Chintu the chance to recover.

Chintu’s journey is a powerful reminder that even the most vulnerable animals can heal with time, patience, and compassion. Thank you for standing with him and helping give this sweet boy the opportunity to grow into the strong, happy young dog he is today.
