I adopted Chips in 2019 from a local shelter in Oneonta. After many many talks with my doctor, she recommended to me adopting a cat to be my emotional support animal, and I fell in love with Chips the moment she licked my hand at the shelter. She’s been by my side as I’ve navigated so many major changes these past 5 years. I can’t imagine my life without her, as she truly is my best friend.

Chips is the queen of the castle. She constantly is making her presence known, both by her looks and her never ending meowing. She loves people, and loves to be pet by anyone who enters the house. She loves to sit on the porch during the nice sunny weather and feel the breeze in her big puff ball of a mane. She loves to instigate her cat sister, Pickles, and licks like a dog to show her affection.

She is like a person in a cat body. And also like a dog in a cat body. She is so expressive in her facial expressions and tail swishes. Plus, she’ll let you know what she thinks by all of her “talking.” If she really likes you, she’ll give ya a groom.

Chips unfortunately has the worst teeth genes known to feline-kind. Chips’ teeth have deteriorated to the point where she is in need for a full teeth extraction. She grinds her teeth and can’t eat like she used to due to the pain. If left untreated it can cause much more severe damage and illnesses down the road.

A full teeth extraction is estimated to be $1500. I haven’t been working in very well paying fields, and I am the sole provider for all of my bills and expenses. This sticker shock is leaving me no choice but to ask for help from others to make sure Chips is healthy.
