Chiquita is a 13-year-old Poodle mix in Austin, TX, who needs $536 for abdominal ultrasound.

My beautiful baby Chiquita came into my life in ‘09. She was a rescue (she rescued me) we have been together for 12yrs she has been my emotional support throughout my infertility journey. In 2018 she had a mammary mass removal & again this year in 10/21 which unfortunately came back cancerous but removed. She is now needing emergency ultrasound & possible treatment to check if it has spread.

My Chiquita loves to sleep on the bed with us cuddled up next to her sister or at my side. She loves to be cuddled and loves her toy fox. She loves to give kisses, go on walks, car drives, and enjoys looking out the window and watching the squirrel’s play. She also loves to watch me in the kitchen as I cook, she loves when I pick her up to dance. She is the sweetest and means everything to me.

My Chiquita is extremely special and dear to us all. We share this connection where she understands me and our bond is strong. She has her special way and adorable look she communicates with. She tells me when she’s hungry/thirsty and her bowls are empty by flipping them over. She has this adorable bounce in her when she walks and holds her head high showing us she’s happy to be out on her walk.

I am trying and hoping to help Chiquita get better by getting her the ultrasound needed to check for an obstruction in her intestines or a mass on her organs that is keeping her from eating and having a bowel movement. She has not been able to eat anything for almost two weeks. I am also trying to get her the treatment, surgery, medication needed after. It is heartbreaking to see her this way.

I lost my job due to COVID and recently started a new one in October 2021. I missed two days of work to stay home with her and be by her side. This has been an unexpected major expense for me and will mean everything to get my baby back to feeling better and healthy again.
