Chloe is a 12-year-old Calico Shorthair in Morganton, NC, who needs $950 for a Total Ear Canal Ablation.

Chloe was my mom's cat, she got her around 2009, she came from a not so great environment. She was so scared at first she would even hide in the walls, but mom was patient and Chloe soon realized she was in a safe forever home. Mom loved this cat! Mom passed away in 2016 and Chloe has lived with me and my son since then.

Chloe has always seemed to be a one-person cat. So after my mom...well, Chloe chose my son, Joey, he is her person. We have both cats and dogs and one of our cats, in particular, adores Chloe. He is a huge (at least 2 times as big) orange Tabby cat named Steve. He sleeps with her, cleans her, just likes to be near her.

I am a student at the community college. During Covid it has been impossible to get work. We have managed to cover all her vet visits and medication so far. About a year ago we noticed something going on with her ear. a real bad ear infection and ear polyps. After the first round of antibiotics and steroids it seemed to clear up. But, it came back. Our vet said she would probably keep getting them, the only thing to totally fix it would be ear removal surgery.

Chloe is a quiet girl, but when she does talk...you get to hear her "broken" meow. It's like a crackling sound, if she doesn't know where you are, she meows pretty loud, calling you. She also, in her younger days, loved to jump up on top of the doors and just sit watching the room. She is a lap cat.
