About this campaign
We acquired Chloe in 2008 from a family friend. She moved into a house where Chloe and her sister lived. The owner was going to send them to the pound so my friend kept the dogs. The family could no longer care for the sisters as their teeny tiny Chihuahua had puppies. The sister went to another family member and when I was reaching out for a partner for our other dog, Chloe became family.
Chloe has become the matriarch "old lady" and is "the boss" of our younger dog, Birdy. They are "frienemies" LOL. She loves everyone who comes over and won't shut up until she is acknowledged. When I pull into the driveway, if I don't come inside fast enough, the dogs start howling and it sounds as if there are 10 dogs! Chloe's an energetic, vivacious gal, always jumping and begging for treats.
I am a displaced teacher since January 2021. Due to Covid, loss of students, no openings, I am subbing. I also lost my health insurance and California requires health insurance so it is now out of pocket. We are strapped.
September 2020 vet visit for a growth on her hind quarters and "leaking" urine. Assessed as a harmless fatty tumor. Treated as UTI, still leaked. Used OTC "pee pills", worked for a while. Tumor now the size of a grapefruit She seems healthy and happy but leaking continues. Vet to see if tumor was pressing on bladder. UNRELATED. Tumor needs to be removed before larger/more invasive surgery needed
Chloe is special because she is smart, fun, and loving. Sometimes she sounds like a turkey when she speaks. Chloe is afraid of fireworks but has handled the booms of Camp Pendleton well. She loves to beg for treats, like any dog, but also knows when it's time to start begging for treats: when we rise and when it's her dinner time!
