Choco Pie is a 16 year old Mix-Breed in Dupont, WA, who needs $2,000 for Patella Luxation Surgery for Right Knee.

Choco Pie originally came from Compton, CA and I rescued him from a shelter in Anchorage, AK when he was about a year and a half and is now 16 years old. He is a miniature pinscher chihuahua mix. He grew up with a companion whom I had to put down November of 2023. We stayed in Alaska for 10 years and now live in Washington State.

Choco Pie has always had grade 1-2 patella luxation but since December of 2024 it has gotten worse to grade 4. At grade 4 he is now limping, having a hard time going up and down stairs, playing, going on walks, and his right knee gives out. Dupont Veterinary and I have been managing this with medication for now, but surgery will correct this issue. Surgery would be done at Blue Pearl Veterinary.

Choco Pie is special to me because he has been the only constant for me for the past 16 years. Even at his elderly age he has the energy as when I first got him. He has a strong personality and isn’t afraid to let people know how he feels. It is funny and endearing when he expresses his opinions so clearly.

I’m reaching out because Choco Pie can face even more serious health issues if I do not get this surgery. He has developed a medical condition that requires expensive treatment. Support would help cover his medical expenses, and more than anything, it would give me peace.
