Chopper is a 1 month old Mix-Breed in Rogersville, MO, who needs $1,000 for Left Hind Leg Amputation.

"Chopper" and his sibling was dumped on our country road about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the sibling was hit and killed by a car. My husband tried to catch Chopper last week, but he ran away and we were unable to find him. Since the accident is now in our home, safe, warm, and fed.

Yesterday, while mowing "Chopper" ran out of a bush and was hit/ran over by our mower.
Chopper was taken to the Emergency Vet where they amputated his damaged tail and did xrays showing a "high femur fracture" that they could not splint. They provided antibiotics and pain meds to get him through the weekend. We contacted our primary vet, who stated an amputation could cost $700-$1000.

Our family loves all animals. Chopper is tiny, but mighty. We are limiting any interactions with our other cats and with our children to help keep his pain at bay and prevent any further injuries from movement.

This was a tragic accident and not something we were expecting. We also werent prepared for the cost of an amputation as this was a stray. We don't want to even consider euthanasia. I know Chopper could live a happy, healthy life in our home with 3 legs and his tiny tail.
