Cici came into my life as a gift from a friend, but she quickly became so much more than that — she became family. I live alone, and before her, my days often felt quiet and lonely. Just a little over a month after Cici came into my life, I learned that she has PPDH, a congenital condition that may require surgery and specialized care. Hearing this was heartbreaking because she is still so young, playful, and full of life.
