About this campaign
Clapton came to me in 2011 when he was 2 months old and we've been together till today. He's a super friendly, smart, happy loving silver Lab who makes everyone happy. Until July 2020 he was quite healthy before he contracted hemongiosarcoma which is cancer of the lining of blood vessels. He needs surgery and chemo which will cost around $7,000.
Clapton and I live alone together in an apartment in Middlebury Vermont where he makes friends with all the tenants. He was very well trained by a professional so he doesn't jump on people, or annoy them. In fact, everyone that meets him loves him and visa versa. Family and friends all take to him because his personality is lovable.
I am a single elderly man living off only my monthly social security payment. That covers my rent, utilities and everything else I need, including food. Each month I barely get by and have exhausted the small savings I had primarily due to the cost of Clapton's diagnosis.
Clapton was diagnosed on July 2, 2020 with hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive and malignant cancer. He grew a tumor on his right side which needs to be removed, followed by chemo treatments. Dr.Courtney Zwahlen, the canine oncologist at Peak Veterinary referral Center in Williston Vermont made the diagnosis.
Clapton has learned how to communicate to me, what he wants and what he needs by making body gestures and using his beautiful eyes and a cute shake of his head when I ask him questions. I smile every time he does that. Clapton knows what love is and he gives it unconditionally to all he meets. He is truly a joy to be around and with.
