In an unspeakable act of cruelty, Clara was left for dead on an apartment balcony for three weeks with two other dogs. One dog died by the time help arrived. Clara was one of the lucky ones who survived -- but barely! Now she needs your help.

When Three Little Pitties Rescue heard about Clara, they rushed her to Alvin Friendswood Veterinary Clinic.

"Clara has needed extensive veterinary care to save her life," Alayna G. with the rescue tells Waggle. "Clara is fighting pneumonia, which almost took her life. She had to be hospitalized three times. At one point, we were told that euthanasia might be the only option. Clara is on eight medications and twice-daily nebulizing treatments to try clearing her lungs."

Despite everything Clara has been through, she is still incredibly sweet and unconditionally trusts humans. It is pretty remarkable.

Clara is showing signs of improvement and is starting to feel better. "She has become talkative, saying hello when she gets excited," Alayna says. "She loves to cuddle and play with her foster brother Yurman. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch and give kisses to her foster mom."

The rescue saves more than 2,000 dogs a year, and they're racing to raise the money to cover all of Clara's medical bills so they can stay afloat and save other dogs in need.
