Cleo Chase is a 2-year-old German Shepherd in Indianapolis , IN, who needs $2,000 for fungal pneumonia treatment due to Blastomycosis infection.

I adopted Cleo when she was 12 weeks from a friend whose family dog accidentally got pregnant and had a litter of pups. Cleo, my girl, was the only female of the litter and I was so excited to have her as my companion because even at such a young age, she had soooo much personality and I knew she was going to be my partner in crime. Cleo is loved beyond measure, especially by her grandpawrents (my parents)! She always starts out in the bed at night then makes her way to the couch where she can rest alone because she’s a big fluffy girl and gets pretty warm at times. She insists I keep the thermostat at 65, anything above that = too many pants from my gal. She loves all humans and all animals, besides squirrels (haha).

I am a graduate student, so I don’t yet have a steady source of income. I was unemployed due to Covid, just like so many others, and was able to save some money but have since used those funds for Cleo’s medical needs. I am desperate and I love her more than anything.

Cleo is being treated for blastomycosis, and aggressive fungal disease that attacks many systems within the canine body. She's been on oxygen for 5 days and is being treated with itraconazole and prednisone. She is going to have to receive checkups regularly, especially to keep an eye on her liver while on these medications. Oxygen assistance will also most likely be needed throughout treatment.

Cleo has the most aggressive head tilts. “Wanna go to the park?!” MASSIVE head tilt followed by a wave of excitement. She also “says please” by taking her paw and resting it on my hand or leg, this lets me know she wants or needs something. She also loves playing when I spray water out of a house - it's her absolute favorite.
