Clifford is a 4-year-old Domestic American Shorthair Cat in Franklin, IN, who needs $450 for X-rays, IV Fluids, Antibiotics, and Examinations.

I rescued Clifford and his sister Lucy at around 4 1/2 weeks old. When they turned 16wks I took them for shots and to be fixed and found that Clifford has a permanent eye twitch and level 3 heart murmur. They have always been inside cats and gotten routine veterinary care and booster shots. I have them and a dog, Rufus. Living with me and my 2yr daughter after a recent separation from my husband.

Clifford & I have always had a very strong bond. He sleeps right on my chest or right beside me every night. When I’m going to bed I call him, he follows me every time. He is very protective & territorial over me, I believe that he thinks he’s my owner & not the opposite. He’s very special to me, I’ve trained him to give me kisses! He’s so good with my daughter, & bosses the dog & his sis around!

Clifford knows how to give kisses, when you ask him for a kiss he nudges his head toward your lips for you to kiss it. He loves to lick/clean mens heads. If he is laying on or beside me and I’m petting him, if I stop and he wants me to keep petting him, if I pretend to not notice him , he very gently reaches up and bats my face so softly. He’s truly the most amazing special cat I’ve ever known!

Clifford has ALWAYS been an inside cat. I recently moved to a new house & while working on it, he managed to get outside. He was missing for 4 days. He was lost as he didn’t know this house or area yet. The 4th night I found him, noticed his right leg is hurting him & he’s unable to walk on or apply pressure on it. No obvious injuries, and he’s puking. I’m worried he could have infection :(

I recently moved & have been a stay at home mom to my daughter for the past 1yr as she needs 3 therapies a week. Money has been tight for me with having to fix up our new place for us. Clifford is my world I couldn’t imagine life without him. Seeing him hurt is breaking me.
