About this campaign
I moved into a new place a couple months ago. I right away noticed there was a stray cat mom & her 2 very young kittens that hang in the backyard. Being a huge animal lover, I started feeding them & do everyday. I have 3 cats already & my landlord won’t let me have more, or I would have taken them in. I try to do my part by providing food & water.
As strays, they are scared of people, but trust me more everyday since I care for them. The kittens are very young and the mom takes good care of them; letting them eat first, etc. Although I can’t pick them & hold them, they have a very special place in my heart. Which is why seeing one so sick suddenly is absolutely breaking my heart.
I lost my job due to COVID and have to find work doing other things, which doesn’t pay at all what I used to get. I’m on a super tight budget to keep up with rent and other bills. I wouldn’t ask for help if it wasn’t necessary.
I can’t afford to take him to an emergency vet. If I could I would in a heartbeat. I’m struggling as it is, being let go at my job due to COVID and doing what I can just to make ends meet. My guess is he has a bad upper respiratory infection due to being out in the cold. I was just in the process of buying/making a weather-safe shelter for them.
Like I said, there’s 2 kittens, but ever since the beginning, the one that is sick is the one I grew a strong attachment too. I love and want to help them all, don’t get me wrong. But there is something about this little guy. Just a few days before this, I had a dream he was sick and I took him in. I’m so heartbroken and wish to take him in now.
