About this campaign

Coco came into my life from my dad, as part of a litter of kittens. She was the runt, and I’ve had her for 12 years now. I named her Coco because as a kitten she had a brownish, cocoa bean–like coat. She lives with me and my dog, Penny, and the two of them get along wonderfully, like best friends.

Coco suddenly became very sick and was diagnosed with feline panleukopenia (FVP), a dangerous illness for both young and older cats. She is currently hospitalized at Standiford Veterinary Center in Modesto, under the care of Dr. Martha Afifi, DVM. She’s receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, and 24-hour care to give her the best chance of recovery.

Coco is always by my side. She greets me at the door with a meow every time I come home, follows me around the house, and eats her meals next to me at the table. She is loved by my grandparents, too—she curls up with my grandpa when I’m away. Coco has been my comfort and emotional support through hard times, always bringing joy and love.

I'm 20 and working part-time, and I'm already struggling after a recent car accident left me with unexpected expenses. Now, Coco's sudden illness and hospitalization is more than I can manage alone. Having support to continue her treatment would mean the world to me.
