About this campaign

We got Coco when she was 8 weeks old after suffering the loss of our first dachshund, Peaches. Peaches was diagnosed with spinal meningitis and had to be put down. Our daughter was devastated so we found Coco about a month later and she healed our hearts immediately. She became a part of our family in February of 2020 and has been our daughter’s best friend ever since.

Coco has been through a lot lately, three weeks ago she was hospitalized for a week with hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and came out of it fully, but unfortunately has now been diagnosed with IVDD. Our local vet (Morphis Veterinary Services) does not do CT scans so we are going to be referred to another vet for imaging/surgery.

Coco is the most sweet and loyal member of our family, she is unsure of strangers, howling immediately upon seeing new people; but she loves deeply and once you gain her trust she just wants to give all the loves and kisses possible.

We are on a fixed income and are still paying the bill for the prior hospitalization and are unable to qualify for extra funding through cherry at this time. If she does not receive the surgery she could lose use of her back legs for the rest of her life.
