Coco is a 1 year old Chihuahua in Summerfield, FL, who needs $1,203 for Surgery to Correct Patellar Luxation.

Coco came into our lives when our friends could no longer keep her due to their own medical needs - his cancer and her flesh-eating bacterial infection. She is now a beloved part of our household, especially to my 16-year-old granddaughter who lives with me. Kyleigh cares for her faithfully, and she sleeps on Kyleigh's bed every night. She cries when Kyleigh leaves the house.

Coco's kneecap is out of joint (patellar luxation) due to hereditary leg problems. It's causing pain and a limp, and it will only get worse. She needs surgery to correct the problem, so she can run and jump again! We'll be taking her to the Animal Clinic of Leesburg, FL. She has already had surgery on her other knee, which had the same problem.

She loves to play, and she snuggles with my granddaughter for naps. She thinks she's so huge, but she's terrified of little lawn signs - she growls at them and runs away! She's glad to see everybody, and gives lots of kisses! Coco is amazingly quiet and loving, and everyone loves her! She's normally very active and curious - fun to watch. She's even friends with Kyleigh's bearded dragon, Ziggy!

I am a widow raising my granddaughter, and I live on a fixed income. Kyleigh will be contributing towards Coco’s surgery from her pet-sitting jobs, but she needs some help, especially since the surgery needs to be done as soon as possible to minimize damage to the knee.
