Cocoa is a 12 year old Shih Tzu in coralville, IA, who needs $4,000 for Corneal Burr.

Cocoa and I started our journey together 12 years ago. She lived in our family home, and traveled with me when I moved out of my mamas. Currently we live in a 1 bedroom apartment with her cat brother shishio who she imitates in behavior. Cocoa picked me when she was just rwady to leave her litter. She was meant to be my sister's, but we have a bond we didn't know at the time we couldn't break.

Currently she is facing her second need for a corneal burr. We have been working successfully with Animal Eye Clinic, who was able to heal her first, non healing ulcer a month ago. Due to unforseen allergy increase, she got another one. We have worked very diligently with everything we were instructed, and have a game plan for her treatment going forward, more targeted to control her allergies.

She is a sweet lady, who loves when people come to visit her. She is vocal, which always gives people the impression she isnt happy, but it is quite the opposite. She gallops when she runs and loves exploring outside. She loves going to grandma's house and driving around town. She is my cuddly baby bear, always by my side or her daddy's side.

This is the second procedure she needs in the last three months. Her first was successful, but due to increased allergies that have unexpectedly flared, she needs a second. I pulled out a loan for her in the beginning of the year successfully, but was denied for this one.
