Cocoa is a 5-year-old Mixed Breed Dog in Leesburg , VA, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

We had adopted a pup from Mississippi and where looking for a sister for her. Found cocoa through the same org that we got Harley and did a meet and greet. Well it was Xmas time and there turned out to be two (9&14 pds..how big could they get!)we couldn't separate them at Xmas so we opened our home to both! Well 85 & 60 pounds later we have a full family.

My wife and adopted cocoa and her sister Maggie (3 total) 5 years ago and at 11 months both were diagnosed with patella luxation, well 4 surgeries later we have spent nearly 17k on legs. Well cocoa was diagnosed with an ACL tear and needs TPLO surgery at a cost of 5700, I'm a veteran and not looking for hand out but any help is appreciated. We have 3100 of the needed funds but thought I'd try here

Cocoa loves walks, especially if there squirrels along the route, she never catches them but for lack of trying! And this love makes this surgery so important. She also loves running up and down our fence "talking" to the neighbors pups! They tend to come out and "ask" each other to play..it's nice for exercise but not so much for grass!

As I said above, cocoa has already been through 2 extensive surgeries and is needing another. She tore her ACL and for quality of life we have to do whatever we can to help her. We suspect it's genetic because both sisters have had the same original condition (patella luxation). She's being treated by the surgeon at our local animal hospital to try and save costs where we can

I'm a disabled veteran and my wife is a nurse, we struggled to pay for the previous surgeries needed for both cocoa and her sister Maggie. Four surgeries and lots of nights sleeping on the floor in the basement with them we totalled over 15k in debt.
