Cody is a 13-year-old Yellow Labrador in Sykesville, MD who needs $1,171 for removal of a malignant sarcoma.

Cody is a rescue from the Howard County MD animal shelter - we adopted him when he was just 14 weeks old. Cody turned 13 in December; Cody is one of the most affectionate animals you will ever meet. Cody's health is superb except this most recent development; all his vaccinations and wellness necessities are up to date.

We live in the country in Carroll County Maryland, Cody is a free spirit and he loves the country life chasing deer and squirrels. He loves to play fetch and he loves to go swimming. He is very very playful and loves to go on walks and to go hiking. He also loves to go on camping trips and car rides. he is a very social animal

Cody just had surgery to remove the Sarcoma but they could not get it all- Dr Snakard said unless we get radiation therapy, cancer will return in 3-5 months. I was laid off because of COVID-19 and cannot afford the necessary medical treatment required to save Cody's life

In December 2019 I noticed that Cody was limping, close inspection revealed a growth on his front right leg. I took him to his vet and they did Xrays and bloodwork and said it was probably a "lipoma" because Cody, already has a few of these that are benign on his torso. After a couple of months, I notice the lump was getting bigger - More diagnostics revealed it is a Malignant sarcoma -

Cody is extremely intelligent, he communicates very well and understands what you want and is pretty good at letting you know what he wants. He can be very vocal at times and for some reason likes to bark at large birds in flight: it's actually quite cute. When you give him a treat he gets very animated and likes to show his appreciation for that treat.
