About this campaign

We rescued sweet Colbie about 5 years ago and she fit right into our family. She is our family’s first dog. Colbie is 6 years old. Colbie was originally put in a kill-shelter in Georgia but was thankfully rescued by a pet rescue in our state. My son had always begged us for a dog and 5 years ago we said yes–it was the best decision our family could have made at that time!

Colbie is very affectionate and loves being around people. She is super gentle and often just wants to be near you and to be pet. She loves going for walks around the neighborhood and on trails in the woods. When she was healthy she enjoyed wrestling around with us on the ground and chasing us as we ran around the house. She is fun loving and sweet!

It would mean so much to our family to have Colbie healthy again! She is fairly young and has so much life ahead of her–we hope she can have a quality life. I hope to see her running and playing again soon!

Colbie has completely torn out both of the ACLs in her hind legs and will require surgery. She has had one surgery but now she will need her other surgery in about 4 months. She is having a hard time walking and at times collapses. She cannot walk up and down stairs safely, jump or run. We have had to stop walks around the neighborhood.

Colbie likes to keep the kids in order at home. When it is bed time she will howl and bark if the kids are not heading upstairs to their rooms. Lately she is cracking us up at the end of zoom calls because she always likes to say goodbye–as she barks! She has quite a refined palate as well–she will not eat just any food that drops on the floor.
