About this campaign

Constance had spent most of her life as a stray, until one day she was brought to Ocooch Mountain Humane Society, who welcomed her with open arms. They noticed she had a lump on her nose, and instantly grew concerned.

A visit to the veterinarian and a pinch biopsy revealed devastating news: Constance had malignant melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer in cats. It was a hard truth to hear, especially for such a sweet and unassuming soul. But there was a silver lining—testing confirmed that the cancer had not spread elsewhere in her body. With hope on their side, her veterinary team made the decision to perform a nosectomy, removing her nose entirely to give her a real chance at life.

The surgery was a success, and Constance (or Connie as she is lovingly called by her foster mom) is now in recovery, adjusting bravely to her new world. Despite everything she’s been through, she remains as loving and gentle as ever. She has started to open up to her foster mom, grateful for the safety and comfort she's finally found. She loves to chat, particularly when she would like her canned food! Her resilience is remarkable, and her will to heal and connect reminds everyone around her just how much she still has to give.

Now, Ocooch Mountain Humane Society is asking for help to cover the costs of her surgery, post-operative care, and recovery. Constance has already beaten the odds, but she still needs support to continue healing and to one day find the forever home she deserves. With your kindness, she can leave the cancer behind and look forward to a life full of warmth, love, and peace.

Update
Our noseless darling is healing so well and starting to come out of her shell! We are so happy to have been able to give Connie another chance at life! In addition to her specialty surgery, she also needed lab work, an ultrasound, and other work up to stage her cancer (ensure it didn’t metastasize) prior to surgery. It was certain worth it all for this precious gal! Thank you for your ongoing support.

Update 05/28
Connie is continuing to do wonderfully in her foster home! This once-feral girl is slowly but surely starting to show more of her personality—she’s becoming more curious, more vocal, and even seeks out attention in her own quiet way. Every day, she seems just a little more at ease, and it’s been heartwarming to see her begin to trust and relax. Thank you for the continued support!
