About this campaign

At just nine months old, this beautiful cat named Cookie was surrendered and brought to RBARI with a horrific and infected wound to her backside—near her rectal and groin area—that left her unable to urinate and in desperate need of emergency surgery.

Cookie needed a specialized procedure to assess whether her internal organs had been damaged. Sweet Cookie made it through the delicate life-saving surgery and is already winning hearts with her resilience, affection, and how incredibly sweet she is, meowing for attention. Her surgical team was able to successfully close the deep wound near her hind end. An additional abscess was found higher up on her lower back and was treated and drained.

Despite the complexity of her condition, Cookie is now peeing and pooping on her own, eating well, and soaking up every bit of love from the hospital staff. She still has surgical drains in place, so she’ll remain hospitalized with round-the-clock care to ensure she's healing well.

However, this surprising and large cost spread RBARI thin as they couldn't wait to raise the funds for her to have this urgent surgery. Cookie still needs your help, covering the cost of the medical bills that are stacking up pre and post-surgery to ensure a full recovery.

Please consider making a life-saving donation to help give Cookie the second chance she deserves as her life is just getting started.

Thank you for letting Cookie touch your heart, as she has surely touched ours!
