About this campaign

Our Dog Sophie passed away, our vet let us know about puppies rescued from a house that burned with mom and puppies left behind. We hadn't had a puppy in a long time, we always rescued from the Thurston County Animal Shelter. However that sweet boy looked at us and our hearts melted. Our house has a dog door to our back yard. We also have our grandkids dog , another dog Zoey and 2 cats.

Cooper is a cuddle bug, he absolutely lives for his babies...tennis balls. He has his own cat Smudge (rescued as well) Our Grandkids were abandoned by their mom, so we have their dog Spidey and we also have another dog Zoey...all rescues. Cooper has super sonic hearing where food is concerned. He knows when I reach for his treats. He also likes to have his hand held.

I have no personal income. Until last year I worked in a hospital but had a series of mini strokes. I had been getting disability that I paid for as a job benefit. They suddenly stopped it. So we live on my husbands retirement. I ration my own meds.

Cooper started out with a small growth near his left eye. We took him to our vet and was given antibiotics and it went away. Then it came back. Only this time it grew really fast and he started getting nose bleeds. Our vet let us know he was sure it was cancer. He was provided with pain meds and recommended to see a cancer vet. We couldn't afford it.

Cooper is obsessed with his babies: tennis balls. Even with his face tumor he gets two in his mouth and with bury them in the yard to hide from Zoey. He gets so excited to walk to the park. We got him a bucket of tennis balls that we throw for him and he just gets goofy trying to catch them all.
