About this campaign

I adopted Cooper at 12 weeks old, he came from Oklahoma to the Oregon humane society through the second chance adoption program. I adopted him after losing 3 family members in the month of December , the most recent was my father the year before, this makes the holiday season a very difficult time, I needed something positive, Cooper needed a forever home.

4/5/26 I noticed Cooper not feeling well I tried to feed him dinner and he would not eat, I took him out to potty and saw blood in his urine, I rushed him the the 24 hr emergency vet where he was diagnosed with IMHA, a condition where his body attacks his red blood cells. The vet started him on medication. He is right now getting his 2nd transfusion at tanasbourne emergency vet in Beaverton, Or

Cooper has been my best friend and goes with me everywhere possible, he loves being by my side and seeing/ playing with his doggie friends Ember and Atlas. Cooper is very easy going and never showed any aggression to people, other dogs, or cats, he is very loving and loyal companion, always up to meeting people.

The cost to treat Cooper for this is very costly, I’ve already spent $12k the vet said the immunosuppressants may take 3-5 days to work, he may need a 3rd transfusion to buy him a little more time and money until he starts producing his own red blood cells.
