Copper is a 2-month-old Basset Hound in Holts Summit, MO, who needs $2,000 for MRI.

When I found out about copper my friend in class told me saying her friends dog had puppies and was selling them so I told her that I’ll take one after a lot of convincing from mom of course. As soon as I realized that I’m getting my first dog that I’m paying for I immediately started preparing for him to come home.

Once the eight long weeks were over I went to go pick him up and immediately fell in love, so did mom. Even though he is a bit scandalous he is the sweetest puppy ever, and loves to play with my other dogs even though they want nothing to do with him he will still love them no matter how many times they run away.

Like I said Copper is a very sweet puppy and very very playful. Maybe a little too playful like running off with my work clothes when I try to get ready in the morning, and no matter how much it may frustrate me I always laugh at the end of the chase because how can you be mad at him? Trick question you can’t.

So going back to before I picked him up the breeder did give me a heads up that he had a lump on his shoulder and had reduced the price for him because the vet she took him to couldn’t tell what it is or if it was going to hurt him now or later. Once I got him I took him to my vet to take another look. She did a needle test and said there’s a main artery going through the lump and never seen this.

The mri for him ranges from 2,500-3,500 and being in college is a bit of a financial bind, and I hate to possibly having to euthanize him if it’s hurting him and not to be able to treat him. This Copper is such a character and just thinking about loosing him is devastating.
