Cosmo is a 15-year-old Border Collie Mix in Chapel Hill, NC, who needs $1,900 for EM Stabilization Level II.

Cosmo came into my life in May of 2007 when I was 17 years old. I was going through a difficult time through deep depression after losing my father tragically a couple of years prior. We both fell inlove with each other during our first meeting at the animal shelter where we played with a tennis ball, which became a significant part of our lives.

Cosmo has been by my side for the past 15.5 years with many different moves and life changes. He currently lives with me, my boyfriend and our cat that he also adores. He has always had a very calm and loving demeanor and gets along with everyone. He has been like a therapy dog to me and I don't know what I would've done without him.

Cosmo is the silliest boy who has made me laugh with his love for deep water where he will find the deepest point just to be able to dive into it, collecting all tennis balls that he finds on our walks, waking me up every single morning at 5 AM, giving me hugs whenever I was feeling sad or overwhelmed and my overall protector.

He has always struggled with some gastrointestinal issues but nothing that could not be managed. In March of 2022 I found an oral melanoma that he had removed and started the Oncept vaccine. In September 2022 he had a severe GI episode where he was in ICU for one week and has been in and out of the hospital since.

I recently graduated from Occupational therapy school with no financial assistance or savings and Cosmo's health took a turn the month that I started to work which drained me financially and I have added over $10,000 of debt to Carecredit.
