About this campaign
My dog’s name is Covid. We got him as a puppy right when the pandemic happened and our state was on lockdown which is why we named him Covid. I got him from a breeder I searched online. I mostly got him for my son who has level three autism as a companion for us since it gets lonely for us at times also I really missed having a dog, my childhood dog passed at age 16 when my son was a newborn.
We live in Wittmann Arizona and my dog got bit by a wild animal, I’m assuming a coyote and tore up his tail. I took him to Animal Medical Center of Surprise and they quoted me $2,087 to get his tail amputated to avoid infection, it’s really tore up so they did not suggest just stitching it up. Unfortunately I cannot afford that.
My dog loves people, he does so well with my son who’s on the spectrum. He loves to be by our side all the time. One of his favorite things to do is play fetch and go on car rides, park, and road trips.
I had to leave my job because my son was needing a lot of help. He was diagnosed with epilepsy in October 2023 and was kicked out of ABA therapy due to his seizures. Right now we’re relying on SSI for income.
