About this campaign
There are at least 26 stray cats (18 f, 8 m) in my small neighborhood's cat colony. The pictured kittens are from the 3-5 litters (they mixed) born this spring. They are currently recovering from a widespread upper respiratory infection, but are otherwise very playful with each other. They all live outside with their littermates and the resident adult cats.
All approx. 26 stray cats in this colony are in need of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return/Release) and basic vaccinations to keep them and the other local animals safe from common diseases and infections, help prolong their lives, and reduce the cycle of litters in the area. The goal is get them spayed/neutered and vaccinated by STOP in Mansfield, Ohio, by their veterinarian/s. (Payment required upfront.)
The cat colony is beloved by my small neighborhood, and each neighbor that shares in feeding these kitties appreciates their companionship. We owe it to these kitties to keep them fed and safe, take care of them as we can, and lessen the cycle of unfair outdoor life to future litters. To my knowledge, all are feral strays. Only a few kittens tolerate handling and a couple adults tolerate pets.
Our neighborhood isn't wealthy. Some of us are one-income, some are fixed-income, and some are poverty-level households. Some have kids. The animal shelters are full. The growing need of care for these kitties has become overwhelming with this spring's arrivals. We need help!
