About this campaign

We adopted Cricket from Hearts United For Animals 5 years ago. She picked us. She had been there for 3 years, and in all of that time no one asked to meet her. That was all we needed to hear. She was ours. She came home with us that day. Since then she has settled right in, and we love her with all of our heart. She loves toys and treats and walks.

Cricket sleeps wherever she wants. We have beds in the living room and bedroom. She used to sleep on the bed quite often, but can't jump up there anymore. She still sleeps with us occasionally, but she prefers to be in her bed in case she needs to get a drink of water. She loves to take walks and smell everything there is to smell. Her love of plush toys is legendary.

Our income has been affected by Covid-19 and other pressing issues. I have been working really hard to have enough funds to get these needed tests done, but bills keep piling up. She desperately needs these tests.

Cricket was diagnosed with diabetes in March. We have been working really hard to make the necessary adjustments to her food and treats. We have even found a new vet with more experience at Ralston Vet. We haven't been able to get her blood glucose numbers under control, so it's possible she also has Cushing's Syndrome.

Cricket's bff is a black lab named Jin. They are so cute together! Cricket makes us laugh every day. Sometimes it's the way she plays, or noises she makes, or when she gives kisses. She loves to play with her toys. She likes to play tug, and then shake the toy... eventually tearing into it to remove the stuffing and finding the squeaker.
