About this campaign

Curious is a 14 month old service dog in training for my son. My sons mom and I have shared custody, so he would travel back and forth with my son. Recently, due to Covid, I lost hours at work, and I was forced to move in with my sons mom and her husband. While this is not an ideal situation, it works for now. I mean, who wants to move in with their ex and her new man?

Curious is a loving dog. There is not a person he doesn't like. My son is autistic, has Tourette syndrome, bipolar, and severe social anxiety. My sons mom has 3 bunnies that Curious adores. While he is still in training, he is mastering his skills. Due to autism, there are times that my son doesn't or can't speak. Curious is learning sign language. He is mastering basic commands quickly.

Due to covid, my sons mom has been unemployed. My hours were cut back. Because everything was shut down, my son was unable to receive all of his therapy, thus relying on Curious more. We tried care credit, scratch pay, and pet insurance. The insurance wouldn't help this time

Curious began throwing up Saturday. He will not eat. He will drink water. Sunday morning I took him to Animal Medical Center of Gahannah. He was seen by Dr. Floreani. He had an x-ray which shows something unidentifiable in his stomach. He would need further exams somewhere else. They said it would be about $500-700 additional for more testing and treatment. They gave him an anti-nausea shot.

Curious is true to his name. He has a way of bringing joy and calm to my son. He can sense Cameron's anxiety and immediately comfort him. He LOVES playing in the water. He will chase a sprinkler all day if he could. He is high energy, which is what my son needs a majority of the time. Yet, he always knows when Cameron needs comforting.
