Daisy is a 1.5-year-old Terrier mix in Henderson , NV, who needs $1,882 for Femoral head removal surgery .

I recently got Daisy and her brother Buddy from my friend who helps foster pets. She had a different name but seemed like a little daisy when I saw her picture. I wanted a companion for my other dog Pooka because we had lost my 16 yr old Scruffy in Jan. We were both sad and depressed. Then in Oct Daisy and Buddy came into our lives. It turns out that Pooka gets Buddy to play with and I get Daisy.

We all got along right from the start. Daisy likes to sleep on a blanket at the foot of my bed and greets me with tail and body wiggling every morning. Only one accident in the house so far. I was afraid Daisy couldn't handle the doggie door but she goes thru like a champ. Nothing can stop her. She protects the house too! A little too loudly sometimes but is learning to quiet down when I call.

I am a single 57 yr old woman who recently survived breast cancer. My work hours have been cut and I have a mortgage and other bills to pay. The surgery costs $1882.00 which I do not have. I can't let Daisy's life be sad and painful. Please donate for her surgery.

When Daisy came I noticed that she was limping. I took her to Horizon Ridge animal hospital where Dr. Larimer ordered xrays. She has severe hip dysplasia (pictured). Her body has been building up more bone in her ball and socket joint to stabilize her hip. It will only get worse. They need to remove the femoral head (ball) and clean the socket so she can have a long and pain free life.

When I sit on the couch in the evening Daisy comes to me slowly and gently and rests in my lap. She closes her eyes and seems to sigh when I scratch under her chin or behind her ears like there is nothing in this world better than that. The others try to barge in but she just puts up with them. Then they leave and she and I relax and enjoy each other's company. Daisy makes me smile with her peace
