About this campaign
Nothing is more exciting than bringing home a brand new puppy for your family on Christmas Eve! But soon after Dan L. adopted Daisy Mae, she became deathly ill.
"After only four days in our home, she started getting lethargic and coughing, shortly followed by difficulty breathing," Dan tells Waggle.
He immediately whisked her to the Veterinary Emergency Group animal hospital. "She had severe pneumonia. She spent 72 hours in intensive care and almost did not make it out," Dan adds.
As Daisy Mae struggles to recover, Dan is struggling to pay for her unexpected medical bill. "We have lost income during COVID," he says. "This expense is over $7,000, and we can't afford much beyond this without going into more debt."
Even worse, just before Dan and his family adopted Daisy Mae, they suddenly lost their other dog. The holidays have been heartbreaking for them. "We thought we were going to lose two dogs in under ten days," Dan says. "She is on continued antibiotics and we are hoping she will make a quick recovery as we work to limit her activity and give her medication and nebulizer treatments."
Dan knows if Daisy Mae pulls through, she will be a gem that he and his children will treasure for the rest of her life. Can you spare some post-holiday spirit and help this family pay for their sweet puppy's care?
