About this campaign
Dale was found in our alley this past summer. He's named after after a family member- but if you're a fan of #3 then we can say "Raise Hell Praise Dale". He's joined our crew of two dogs, three if you count Ruth the cat (she prefers canine companions and probably refers to herself as one), one disable chicken, a tortoise, my old man parrot and temp houseguest parakeet, and two old geckos.
Dale brings me joy as I've love cats- and he loves me so win-win (Ruth prefers the company of my husband so declines to be a part of any of my attention). He is your typical kitten- inquisitive, playful, all around clown.
Dale chirps- I love it. When he 'runs' it brings me to tears laughing because of his wonky legs. He climbs baby gates which is both amazing and also frustrating but you can't stay mad or sad about it, ya just clean up after him...
Dale is both urine/fecal incontinent ^hence the cleaning up after him. His right hind leg is weak and remains in a mostly flexed position slightly rotating underneath. His left hind leg is hyperextended & is recommended to amputate with the hope he can build some strength in his right hind. Currently Dale is under supervision at Purdue University with surgery pending tomorrow.
None of Dale's medical expenses nor supplies have ever been within my budget but I've been trying to do what is best for him while also making sure household expenses are taken care of and the rest of the kids needs are met.
