Danny is a 6-year-old Jack Russell mix in Austin, Texas, who needs $1,018 for urgent surgery.

Danny has helped save his humans' lives, and now he needs your help to save his.

The sweet Jack Russell mix ran into a piece of metal rebar sticking out of a railroad tie -- ripping the skin off his chest and shoulder area. Now he needs urgent surgery to repair the tear.

His human mom, Dawn K., is worried sick. She can't afford his unexpected medical care.

"I'm desperate," Dawn tells Waggle. "My husband works full time, and I work part-time, but not consistently. We both lost our mothers to Covid, and our rent went up $560 per month. We scraped what we could to get Danny medicine and to be seen, but he'll require surgery."

Before Dawn's mother died, Danny helped save her life.

"Danny jumped into my elderly mother's lap while she choked and instinctively pushed her head up with his nose, stopping her choking," Dawn says.

He also was a regular at the nursing home. "Danny was a ray of light in my mother-in-law's nursing home as he visited patients, climbed into their beds, and quietly laid with them," Dawn adds.
