Danny is a 7-year-old Siberian Husky in Chesterfield, VA, who needs $2,000 for Total Ear Canal Ablation.

We adopted Danny in May 2020 through Pet Harbor Rescue & Referral. He came to Pet Harbor from Lancaster County, SC Animal Control. They had seized Danny along with about 20+ other Siberian Huskies from a residential property. He lived the first 5 years of his life in a crate. When we adopted him, he weighed 44lbs, didn't know how to eat from a bowl, and had severe separation anxiety.

With a lot of positive reinforcement and treats, Danny's separation anxiety has subsided. He still wants to eat his food off the floor, but he's a healthy 67 pounds now. He loves kisses, car rides, and his cozy blanket. He despises being outside, taking his daily meds, and wearing the e-collar.

Danny started out with a rough life, but he has blossomed into the silly, lazy boy we love today. His sister has been teaching him to counter surf, & he recently stole a pound of taco meat that was supposed to be our dinner. It's been a blessing to have him as part of the family & to see how much he has changed over the last 2 years as he transitioned from a neglectful situation to a loving home.

In February 2021 we started treating Danny for an ear infection. It subsided with meds, but constantly returned. We treated the ear infection multiple times with various meds over the course of the year until an abscess formed on his cheek under his ear. At that point the Vet recommended inserting a drain in the abscess and contacting a surgeon to perform a Total Ear Canal Ablation.

During the time of treating the chronic ear infections, our family struggled with some financial hardships. While we had emergency funds available, that resource and credit have been depleted. I have a Care Credit account but Danny's multiple treatments have maxed it out.
