Dave is a 9 year old Golden Retriever in Richmond, VA, who needs $2,087 for Biopsy, Dental Cleaning, and Extractions.

Dave was tired of wandering the streets of post-Maria Old San Juan so hid underneath his foster dad’s truck during a rainy night while Alejandro was in a convenience store. Alejandro took him home, gave him a bath, tried to find his family the following days, and ended up keeping Dave for a couple months until one night I logged onto Facebook and ended up being a Dave mom.

Dave has a mass in his mouth that requires a biopsy, and, since he will be under anesthesia, Dr. Scott at Mechanicsville Animal Hospital would like to clean his teeth and do any necessary extractions.

Dave gave me a heart. I often say that supplied me with a heart and his sister Blythe made me a Time Lord. (Now, we have Sadie; I’m still finding the suitable three-hearted being for comparison.) He takes his job of protecting his mum, sisters and home seriously; I often wake up with him lying across the door entry. But he wakes us up each morning, singing (he’s party husky) and demanding cuddles.

Since the pandemic, I’ve been on Disability. We do our best, but, this past year, Blythe had CCL surgery and I just don’t have an emergency fund. A recent breast cancer diagnosis has further complicated our lives.
