Dawson was a rescue from Alabama. My older dog Yukon picked him. I had been looking at getting a 2nd dog but anytime I introduced Yukon to a puppy he wanted nothing to do with it. Until Dawson, They instantly played during the meet and greet and Yukon's big bark to convince Dawson to play with him didn't scare Dawson away! Dawson Chose his name, I have an Alaska theme, he started responding to it.

Dawson had Bilateral TPLO surgery and 2 bucket torn meniscus. All were recently repaired. We went to Edinger Surgical Options so he could do the recovery stay and have physical therapy several times before he came home to get him off to a good start. He was born with bad conformation, there was nothing I could have done to prevent this injury.

Dawson has been in pain for a long time from his injury, because of this he is very selective with people. To me, he always wants to be near me and wants to cuddle. He thinks he is a lap dog. We call is aggressively cuddling because he will demand it. He has buttons to talk to me and will use the cuddle button when he just wants attention and love.

I took Dawson to 4 different veterinarians before someone was finally able to diagnose him and why he was so painful. This surgery was a much bigger injury and expense that I wasn't expecting. I work as a veterinary Technician but my clinic doesn't do this procedure.
