About this campaign

Deacon came into our life a few years ago, from a family friend who was no longer able to care for multiple cats at once. Who we thought was a new pet, quickly became an unforgettable member of the family. As our first baby, he has been by my side for my entire pregnancy, and thinks that all of our baby supplies are for him! In four weeks, he hopefully will get to meet our new baby.

Deacon has a very common problem for cats, which is a urinary obstruction. We only could afford an outpatient procedure where they remove his previous blockage, but now if it returns we will not be able to afford surgery for him. I am setting this up preemptively because I can’t bare the thought of losing him, he is such an amazing, innocent boy and I need to make sure that he’s okay.

Deacon loves his rat toys, and will have battles where he tears through the apartment with them. is very attached to both my husband and I, and sees us as “mom and dad”. He especially adores my husband, who he greets every time he can even hear his van pull up outside the apartment. He also pressing himself in between our pillows at night, to be as close to us as possible. He is so special to us.

We are expecting a baby in 4 weeks. I have spent most of my pregnancy hospitalized, which has made funds far tighter than we had ever saved up for them to be. It would mean the world to me to ensure that Deacon will be able to meet our baby girl. He means the world to us.
