Delilah is a 4-year-old Long Haired Dachshund in Calgary, AB, who needs $1,500 for Luxating Patella surgery.

Delilah came into our lives after being rescued. From what the rescue organization could surmise, she was beaten/tortured and more than likely thrown from a moving vehicle. Despite what she’s been through, she is the sweetest little dog. We are so blessed to have her in our family, now she has a safe home, lots of love, a big sister, two cats, lots of toys & food but most importantly, she’s safe

Delilah has melted her way into our hearts with her sweet soul and funny little face. Despite being small and having a disability with her back leg, she still manages to get the best of her big sister. She loves cuddles and her squeaky toys.One thing she still does is sticks to the wall when going down the hallway and always looks behind herself, we’re pretty sure that’s what she did in alleyways

Forget about the fact that she can’t run around and play or go for walks. Our main concern is that she is in pain and not having the financial resources to help her is breaking our hearts. We would love nothing more than to see her walk painfree.

When we adopted Delilah we were told that she favoured her back right leg, but after having an X-ray done their veterinarian said she had a luxating patella which could resolve itself. Since adopting her, her leg has gotten much worse. After consulting with our vet, he recommended surgery as her condition is painful and is to the point that she cannot go for walks, we take her out in a stroller

She has the most adorable smile when she gets excited or when she’s playing, she opens her mouth and seriously looks like she’s smiling. She also gets the best of her sister by attacking her back legs and in the video I posted you can hear her sister Izzy vocalizing because Delilah can be relentless when playing with her. She may be small but she’s mighty.
