About this campaign

Last February, after Delilah turned 2 she and her litter were given to a rescue. I saw her online and knew she was the one. In March I was able to pick her up at a Taco Bell parking lot after her 1,000 mile journey from Alabama to Providence. She now lives with me and my 14 year old cat, Addison.

I'm not sure what Delilah's life was like before we met, but she seems pretty happy. She has a fenced in yard, lots of toys and has a few favorite sleeping spots. She LOVES snacks and sleeping with either Mr. Bear or Mr. Pig. Oh, and she likes listening to classical music. She tries to friend my cat, but...she's a cat. Hopefully, she'll meet more people this year.

Delilah has fantastic insurance, but I later found out her policy doesn’t cover CCL surgery in the first year. This was a sudden expense ( including all the meds leading up to surgery). I'm single and on a single income.

Delilah tore the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in her rear left leg. Surgery was the only option. She’s scheduled to go in on March 1 at Providence River Animal Hospital. She’ll have a 4” incision going down her knee and will be required to wear a cone for a month. Recovery is about 2-3 months. She’s on trazodone, gabapentin and carprofen. Carfrofen makes her sick so she takes Prilosec.

Delilah LOVES the mailman. She met him a few times and goes absolutely crazy when he comes by. Her favorite snack is anything with peanut butter or bacon. She snores, passes gas and yaps at me when she wants a hug. Then she'll walk off and move to another place to sit. She's completely flattened the sofa back cushion.
