Demitri is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever in Lacey, WA, who needs $2,000 for Left Radius/Ulna Fracture Repair.

My grandparents own Demitri’s parents and grandma, and when Demitri’s litter was born, I helped take care of all the puppies. In return, I got Demitri! When he was 12 weeks old, someone in my neighborhood stole Demitri from my yard, and we found him a day short of a month later at a pound an hour away. Demitri lives at home with me, his 2 cat brothers, and his snake sister.

Demitri has his own bed at the foot of mine, but he still sleeps in my bed with me. He loves to go anywhere and everywhere with me wherever he can. He’ll take whatever snacks or leftovers you’ll offer him, and if you mention him leaving or going on a walk, he’s running for his leash! Demitri’s favorite thing to do though is to stick his head out the car window!

We recently moved due to the pandemic, and I had to find a new job in the area I moved to. With the cost of moving and just starting a new job, I don’t have any savings, and I’m now having to take time off of work in order to care for Demitri.

Demitri snuck out of the yard and while crossing the street, he was hit by a passing truck. He broke his left front radius and now needs surgery to place a plate and screws. He was taken to BluePearl after the accident, and has since been seen by Mountain View Veterinary Hospital, and will be having his surgery at Olympia Veterinary Specialists on October 1st at 10am.

Demitri’s best friend is my best friend’s boxer, and whenever we FaceTime, if they hear each other’s name or see each other, they both get so happy and start turning their heads trying to look at the screen. Even though he’s the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet and just wants to be friends and play with everyone, he’s got a big scary bark that tends to make people nervous.
