Derby is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Coeur dAlene, ID, who needs $13,000 for Ear Amputation.

Derby was originally from the Kooteney Humane Society. I adopted him from my best friend’s family after her mom went to jail on a warrant. him and his brother were let loose by the people that were watching them and picked up by animal control. Derby was able to be lured into a patrol car with an officers lunch. He came into my hands cause they asked me to watch him but we became the best of buds.

A week ago Derby and his sister got into a fight. It was out of the blue thing. They’ve always been best of friends. He had a 2 1/2 hour procedure to suture him up and prevent infections. His ear has been struggling to heal due to loss of blood flow, causing his ear to slowly become necrotic and now he needs it to be removed all the way down the canal.

Derby is one of the most loving and smartest dogs I have ever met. I like to tell people that he’s my soul dog and if he was a man, I would make him my husband.

I do my best to provide for my fur babies and I I work an average job making $21 an hour having this situation has stretched me very thin and I have already spent over three grand between my two dogs. I’m the type of person where I would do anything for my dogs.
